Freedom Tower Cornerstone Has a Future
Peter Haskell Reporting
WCBS 880 Reporter
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- The inscription on the cornerstone for the Freedom Tower reads "To honor and remember those who lost their lives on September 11,
2001 and as a tribute to the enduring spirit of freedom."
Some tribute.

Peter Haskell reports from Ground
Zero
The stone was removed from Ground Zero in 2006 and has been in the yard of the company that cut and polished it since then.
The name of the building it was to be a part of isn't even the same anymore. The Freedom Tower will now be called One World Trade Center. A major construction
milestone occured on Wednesday when the first jumbo column above street level has been put into place.

Innovative Stone CEO Karen Pearse hopes the 20-ton granite stone still has a future.
Pearse says, "I hope that it does find its place back at the site or find its place at the mueseum."
For now, the stone will become the centerpiece of a memorial garden at the Hauppauge company. It will be dedicated on September 11, 2009.
